Open Sew Fridays - Come Sew With Us!
For only $10, join us on Fridays to sew in our classroom. You'll have access to large sewing tables, cutting tables, cutting mats, and irons/ironing boards. Work on any sewing project you wish, and if you need some advice or quick help, we'll be glad to assist you in between waiting on customers. You may also rent one of our Baby Lock Jubilant classroom machines for $25 for the day if you don't wish to bring your own machine. Please bring your own sewing tools (scissors, rotary cutters, pins, markers, etc.) It's a very "sewcial" time & a nice bit of self-care to leave home & work responsibilities behind for the day!

Learn To Sew Skill Level: Beginner Cost: $39 Saturday, January 10 9:30-4:30 with Kathy Learn all about fabrics, how to use a sewing machine, and how to use a commercial sewing pattern to create a comfy pair of pajama or lounge pants. By the end of the day, you'll be past the beginner stage and ready for your next project! The Perfect T-Shirt
Skill Level: Beginner Saturday, November 15 9:30-4:00 with Kathy Cost: $49 This is a t-shirt pattern unlike any you have ever tried before. It's made for a "real" woman and addresses the most common fitting issues we face: high round back, forward shoulder, and full hip and bust. This pattern customizes to a good fit through the shoulder and neck areas. Design details include an "essence of waist," flattering shirt-tail hemline, 3 neckline choices, and 4 sleeve length options. We will include a full bust adjustment if needed. Serger Tips & Techniques, Part 1
When: Saturday, January 24, 10:00-1:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Sylvia Cost: $39 Are you afraid of your 4-thread serger? Come to this class and lose your fear! Sylvia will cover the basic 2, 3, and 4 thread stitches in this class. She will walk you through the adjustments for each and you'll make samples for each with attached cards listing the settings on your machine. Bring your own machine or use one of ours by prior arrangement. All supplies included except serger thread. |

Start Your Cloth Napkin Collection
When: Monday, November 3, 12:00-3:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $39 Want to get away from using wasteful paper napkins all the time? Start a collection of cloth napkins in fabrics that match your dishes or holiday themes! Kathy will guide you in cutting the size you'd like and hemming the edges nicely, including mitering the corners using an easy technique. Supplies not included. Easy Christmas Tree Skirt
When: Monday, November 10, 12:00-3:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $39 Get ready for the holidays with a super-easy-to-construct tree skirt! We'll provide the pattern, you sew the wedges together, stitch on the backing, and voila! you're done. Doesn't have to be Christmasy either . . . use favorite sports teams fabrics, winter & snow fabrics, juvenile prints, etc., whatever you like to dress up your holiday tree. Supplies not included. Exploring Binding Techniques
When: Thursday, November 13, 4:00-7:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $39 Whether you're finishing a quilt or a sleeveless blouse, you will need to decide on a technique you'll use to bind the edges. Come to this class to explore the options. We will "learn and do" several different ways to bind fabric edges on quilts and on garments, using both commercially packaged and self-made binding strips. You'll go home with samples you've made and a hand-out explaining how to do each one. Supplies not included. 10-Minute Table Runner
When: Monday, November 17, 12:00-3:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $39 Choose some pretty holiday or seasonal fabrics to dress up your table! This super easy pattern uses two strips of coordinating fabrics & some decorative stitches . . . maybe not 10 minutes, more like half an hour of sewing time, lol! . . . but the result is really cute. Make a second one, cut it in half, finish the ends, and you have a couple of matching place mats! Supplies not included.
