Meet the Ragtime Staff
All of us wait on customers and pitch in wherever we can, but we also have assigned responsibilities and special skills here at our employee owned and operated fabric store.
Customer service is always our first priority!
EricStore ManagerI have worked at Ragtime for 5 years, but I've been sewing for over 20 years. I am mostly self taught. My sewing mostly consists of costumes, garments and crafts, and recently I began dabbling in quilting. When I'm not working, I'm usually at home sewing with my cat, Bithia, or I'm set up at a craft fair with my mom. ~ Eric

GamyIT GuyI'm Gamy Hernandez. I've been sewing successfully since 2019, but I have a bad habit of collecting crafts and supplies. I can hand and machine knit, crochet, spin, and more. I specialize in vintage and period costumes and usually get lost in the research. I'm no expert by any metric, but I'm always happy to answer any questions relating to my hobbies and skills. ~ Gamy

SarahBaby Lock TechnicianAfter many years working as a maritime litigator in Miami, Florida, I semi-retired to Harrisonburg in the autumn of 2018 to be closer to family. The following spring, I walked into Ragtime Fabrics for my first sewing lesson, and in the fall of 2021, I started working here. After weeks of classes, I became the store's certified repair technician for Baby Lock, the brand we sell and the only one we service. The repairs area is in the back of the store, and you can find me here on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Come by and "Hi" the next time you visit the store! ~ Sarah
